According to the 2019 survey, Dhaka has been listed as one of the most polluted cities in the world. There are many reasons behind air pollution in Dhaka city. Among them the most notable is the destruction of plants. Houses, factories , roads, settlements etc. are being built by destroying the trees. The number of vehicles are growing at an alarming rate with the increasing of human housing and employment needs. Here a huge portion of the students and employees have to use vehicles almost every day to reach their respective destinations. Most of these people use local vehicles. The air around most of Dhaka’s roads are covered with so much dust and the  toxic fumes which come from vehicles and factories that even in the summer afternoon , it will feel like a foggy winter morning. Breathing in this air can causes various lung diseases including inflammation of the respiratory tract.

 

We can use sensor based technology to reduce airborne dust. First of all, we should specify those areas of Dhaka city where the roads air are most polluted.

We can then set underground water line according to the plan. Auto sensors can be used that can measure air temperature , dust content and air dryness at a specific location at every hour. A specific data will be set in the system that will be marked as the safe zone for surrounding air of every area  according to the temperature, dust content and air dryness. As the sensor will check surrounding air’s dryness, dust and temperature  per hour, if the safe zone is crossed  then a certain amount of water will be applied to the road automatically from the underground water line. While applying water to the road ,the amount of temperature, dust and dryness will be measured continuously by the sensor. According to the system data when the temperature , amount of dust will be favorable , the water line will be closed after receiving the signal by the sensor and will mark it as safe zone. The sensor can also measure  the amount of  applied water so that  the authority can supply water as per the need in future.

This is an example of sensor  based technology that can be used for reducing the air pollution of Dhaka city. There are some water loaded truck for watering the roadside plants at certain area of Dhaka city .  These water loaded trucks are also seen at particular under constructing road area  for reducing the excessive dust in the air.  These water trucks move very slowly and gradually complete the water supplying. For that reason sometimes a long traffic occur on the road. Sometimes it also can be seen that water is flooded more than the needs and causes the wastage of water. For those reasons sensor based technology can be a solution for this problem that is stated above.

Our government is trying its best to control the environment pollution . Not only government but also we all should come forward to reduce environment pollution. Government will take steps and we have to come forward  willingly to execute those taken steps. For this type of sensor based technology’s execution student can play a vital role. Save the environment for assuring that there is “future” for us and which will exist for our future generation.  Otherwise the world will be destroyed along with us and there will be no “future”.
