How to setup the router to work as a repeater?
We often suffer for the poor range provided by our home router. Here is the way by which applying you can use your secondary router as an wireless repeater.
Connect your computer to the router by cable or wireless, then login the router by entering
http://192.168.0.1 (your router's ip)into the address bar of your browser.
User Name and Password are required, by default both are admin in lowercase letter. Click LOGIN.
STEP-3: Change your secondary routers's ip to anything else than your primary router's ip. If your primary router's ip is 192.168.0.1 then make your secondary router's ip anything else but not this ip.
STEP-4: Turn off the DHCP option in your secondary router. This will make sure that the connected devices in the secondary router is getting the local ip addresses from the primary router.
STEP-5: Reboot both router.
STEP-6: Lastly connect both the router through a UTP/STP cable (CAT5 or CAT6) in the LAN ports of both rouer.
If you followed all the steps properly, then by now your 2nd router alreadt started working as a wireless repeater. Enjoy.
